Snap ginger (Alpinia calcarata)

Snap Gingers are named after their yellow-red flowers which resemble Snapdragons. They are pollinated by bees, bats and birds. The leaves of Snap Gingers have a sweet, soothing fragrance which resemble that of Cinnamon bark. These plants are well adapted to growing in the shade of other larger trees or shrubs.
