Honagane (Alternanthera sessilis)
Sessile Joyweed has been used as an edible green for hundreds of years. There are a number of varieties of which the most common ones are the green and red varieties. It is known to grow well near the edges of freshwater bodies such as lakes and ponds. The leaves can be used just the way one would use Spinach/ Palak. Also used for its medicinal properties.
